A Year in Photos

Photography, fiction, and personal essays form my three primary creative outlets. For this blog's first 18 months, I used it primarily for photography. As I've returned to creative writing, I'll use this blog for fiction, too. Sometimes, when reality needs to be discussed more than truth, I write personal essays.

This blog will continue to showcase as many above-average photos as I can muster. Hopefully my written work will be as good or better than the visual. Whichever drew you here -- photographs or fiction, I hope you enjoy both.

Downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is a gorgeous part of the world. The city has improved a lot in the past ten or so years and the architecture, art, and atmosphere are a treat for visitors. Waling though a glass-enclosed walkway over the river, I snapped this shot of one of the buildings in downtown. This type of result is why I love my Pentax K-7. Pentax receives criticism for not making a professional-grade camera. And I agree they ought to have a full-frame model. But with images like this. it's somewhat hard to see why.
